Okuma and Morris South to Host Southern Tech Fest

Okuma America Corporation, CNC machine tool manufacturer, and Morris South, a machine tool solutions distributor, will partner to host Southern Tech Fest, Wednesday, June 24 through Thursday, June 25, 2015 from 8 AM to 5 PM at Morris South's Tech Center and Okuma's Partners in THINC facility in Charlotte, NC.

"This two-day event will feature smart machining technology and strategies. Attendees will learn how to maximize spindle uptime and throughput and see a variety of machines and cutting demonstrations. New CNC technology, tooling and workholding will be on display and smart machining strategies will be discussed. Guests will have the opportunity to meet with representatives from Okuma, Tsugami and members of Partners in THINC and other suppliers," said a spokesperson.

The event will feature the following demonstrations:

• Automation

• Quick Change Tooling and Workholding

• Offline Program Verification

• Tool Setters.

The following Okuma machines will be on display:

• MB-5000H - horizontal machining center (HMC)

• MA-500HII  - HMC

• MB-10000H - HMC

• V100R - vertical machining center (VMC)

• GENOS M560-V  - VMC

• GENOS L250 - horizontal lathe (show special)

• 2SP-150H - horizontal lathe.

This event includes a daily continental breakfast and barbecue lunch. After hours refreshments and hors d'oeuvres will be served from 5-7 PM on Wednesday, June 24. The Richard Childress #3 Cheerios NASCAR show car will be on display. A special $500 Morris South voucher (one per company in attendance) applicable towards machine maintenance, repair or engineering services will be given away.
