Fagor Automation, a strategic partner of Diversified Machine Systems (DMS), a designer and manufacturer of CNC routers, offers an on-floor programming Interactive Editor tool designed to make machine programming easier.

Offered as an additional feature to the Fagor 8055 CNC control routinely used on DMS CNC routers, the Interactive Editor is designed to enhance the simplicity of programming by allowing the programmer to choose the type of operation function, followed by assisting the programmer through the entry of all necessary variables to follow. The Interaction Editor is accessible through the Edit mode on the controller by selecting the Interactive softkey.

All cycles within the Interactive Editor are available when entering the appropriate variables per the instructions and Graphic Assist screen. Once completed, the operator presses the Enter key to create the cycle that gets automatically inserted into the G-code part program. The tasks available are for machining canned cycles, probing cycles or contouring choices.

All Fagor Interactive Cycles can be called upon directly from the part program by keying the cycle G-code and pressing the Help key. If the user is unsure about the operation of the G-code, he or she can enter the letter "G" and Help key to get a list of all the G-codes that can be scrolled through to find the intended operation.

Fagor also offers an on-board mini CAD/CAM system named the Profile Editor that allows for quick and easy creation of simple profiles. When completed, the contour G-code is automatically generated and inserted directly into the part program. An extensive background in G-code programming is not necessary with the Teach-In mode, which allows for simple program creation through successful manual and MDI machining. Program verification is achieved faster and easier in simulation mode with advanced HD solid graphics that include part zoom and multi-angle views.

All Fagor CNC controls include Ethernet capability, RS 232 serial port and USB connection, which allows for offline CAD/CAM program creation.
