Evansville Tool & Die, Inc., a manufacturing service provider specializing in dies, thermoform molds, trim tools and production machining, has recently added significant capacity and capability with the purchase of two Mitsubishi wire electrical discharge machining (EDM) centers.
"We replaced two of our oldest machines for larger capacity and faster cutting speed," said Jack Droste, Owner. "Those machines were 25 and 26 years old and we were still using them every day, but it was time to replace them. Now with the capability of cutting up to 20" thick, these additions enable us to do work we could not before."
The new machines, models MV-4800 and MV-2400, are two different sizes within the same series from Mitsubishi. These advanced wire EDM systems feature the new M700 series control with 15" touchscreen, providing easy user interface. The machines also feature several new innovations, including a new non-contact Cylindrical Drive System. The MV Series is highlighted by several advances in machine construction, auto-threading, internal machine communication, power supply technology and operating cost reduction.
Evansville Tool & Die, Inc. was founded in 1959 as a design, build and repair shop of dies, jigs, fixtures and special machinery. In recent years, an extra emphasis has been placed on thermoform molds, trim tools, prototypes and large run production machining.
