Seco to Showcase New Jabro End Mills at JEC Americas

Attendees to the JEC Americas Composites Show, to take place June 2-4 in Houston, TX, will have an opportunity to see Seco's latest Jabro JPD and JC end mills. These products are designed to bring fast, efficient cutting to part-processing applications involving carbon and glass fiber composites as well as carbon and glass fiber reinforced plastics. The company will showcase these products, which consist of four new geometries, in booth 1418 at the George R. Brown Convention Center.

The JDP group that consists of the new 880 square end mill, 850 ball nose end mill and 840 compression-type end mill features brazed polycrystalline diamond plates built for long tool life. Main PCD-plated bodies include through-coolant channels for effective chip and dust evacuation. The JDP880 and JDP840 end mills are available in diameters that range from 6 mm to 16 mm, while the JDP850 covers diameters from 4 mm to 16 mm. Two PCD plate lengths - normal and long - are also available for the JDP880.

The JC group of solid-carbide end mills includes the new 875 solid-carbide router that is designed to deliver excellent surface finishes via a special edge treatment that prevents wear. An added diamond coating further boosts the tool's wear resistance, allowing it to withstand the highly abrasive properties of composite materials. Seco also imparted a special chip-splitting design to the end mill for clean cutting actions. Diameter ranges for the JC875 are from 3 mm to 12 mm, with .250" to .500" imperial sizes also available.

"Overall, these four geometries incorporate special advanced designs so that composite workpiece materials remain undamaged during the machining process," said a company spokesperson. "As a result, users of these end mills can expect clean, controlled cuts for high surface finish quality."

These new Jabro products join what Seco has already established as a comprehensive selection of JPD and JC end mills and Feedmax PCD drills.
