The PARTcommunity 3D CAD models app by CADENAS is now available in the latest version 3.0.4. Besides other optimizations in function and design, the app now features a sketch search function.
"Smartphone and tablet users, with their relatively small screens and without real keyboard and mouse, need as simple as possible control interface," said a company spokesperson. Users just trace the rough form of the object on the three sides of a cube and hit "search." If more detail is needed, there are various editing tools available to refine the sketch and narrow down the search results.
"The app's look and feel has also been further improved," said the spokesperson. "With the transition to flat design, the application now has a tidier look and provides an even more comfortable user experience - particularly on small smartphone screens. Another comfort function is the new sharing buttons. With those, selected content can now be shared with friends and colleagues not only by email, but also through installed social media channels like Facebook, Google+ or Twitter."
The PARTcommunity 3D CAD models app was developed and optimized specifically for both Android and Apple's iOS operating system. "With it, engineers and purchasing agents in the sectors of machinery, equipment construction and automotive have direct access to catalogs of more than 400 popular manufacturers with millions of components, which can be viewed as 2D or 3D models on a smartphone or tablet," said the spokesperson. Additionally, those CAD models can be downloaded and integrated in the user's design environment in over 85 different CAD formats.
