Command Tooling Systems Partners with Machining Cloud GmbH

Precision CNC toolholding product manufacturer, Command Tooling Systems, has entered into a partnership with Machining Cloud GmbH to publish its cutting tool product data onto the cloud.

"Through the Machining Cloud, Command Tooling System's cutting tool product data (descriptive, usage and geometric information, application knowledge and price and availability) will be readily available for its customer to feed their CAM systems, tool management software, cutting tool presetters, machine tools and other data-hungry shop equipment," said a company spokesperson. "Using the Machining Cloud tablet and desktop apps, Command's customers will have access to a rich set of software features including Selector, Configurator, Job Management, Reporting and Commerce."

"While customers will see a big productivity improvement using the apps for selecting cutting tool items and building assemblies, there is an even bigger benefit from the Machining Cloud's ability to feed the product data directly into their shop software," said Stephane Julien, Cloud Evangelist for Machining Cloud GmbH. "By utilizing cloud technology and industry standards - including ISO13399, STEP, GTC and MTConnect - the Machining Cloud is capable of serving up-to-date product data to virtually any shop floor software or system."

"By publishing Command's product data on the Machining Cloud, we are able help our customer save time in assembling their tooling packages while also making our products more easily accessible to a much larger audience and to easily feed their data-hungry shop floor software," said Chuck Berg, Chief Operations Officer of Command Tooling Systems.

The Machining Cloud apps run on Microsoft Windows 7 and 8 powered desktop computers, as well as Android tablets and iPads. Through these feature-rich, modern, cloud-based apps, the product data is always up-to-date and available anytime, from any location and any device. The Machining Cloud is a neutral platform open to all partners and suppliers, making it suitable for the needs of most shops.
