Royal Machine & Tool Expands with New VMC

Royal Machine & Tool Corporation has expanded its capabilities with the Okuma Genos MX580 VMC featuring 15,000 RPM and 4th axis capability.

Royal Machine & Tool has expanded its capabilities with the addition of an Okuma vertical machining center (VMC). The new Okuma Model Genos MX560 VMC provides the 15,000 RPM speed and accuracies required in today's aerospace and other high-tech industries.

In making the announcement, Guy Byrne, Senior Vice President and General Manager, said, "The new Genos MX580 Vertical Machining Center's rugged construction and high speed capability now allows us to venture forward with new tooling for higher speeds. Specifically, the Genos MX580 will now permit Royal Machine to machine multiple surfaces accurately, load multiple fixtures and increase program capacities."

The new machine was purchased from Robert E. Morris Company of nearby Windsor, CT, with installation, operator training and overall supervision provided by Mike Bruell.

In addition to the newly acquired Genos MX580, Royal Machine's lineup of vertical machines includes a YCM Supermax TV158B, Vision Wide VF2000, Okuma #50 taper, Okuma #45 taper and Okuma #40 taper.

Bernie McAloon, Sales Manager, said, "In addition to continually evaluating and updating our vertical machining line, our new Genos MX580 allows Royal Machine to enhance its manufacturing process by increasing quality and delivery requirements."

Founded in 1952, Royal Machine & Tool Corporation designs and builds custom and standard workholding devices, from simple manual fixtures to sophisticated hydraulic fixtures with multiple faces. Custom and standard chucks of all types for rotating and non-rotating applications are also designed and built by Royal Machine & Tool, as well as a complete range of manufacturing options/services from single prototype machining to high volume production requirements.
