Haimer World Premieres at EMO

Haimer's Power Mini Shrink Chuck series is designed for the die and mold industry.

"With the strengthened and vibration reducing Power Collet Chuck, users can reach the highest performance in machining without using cumbersome roller bearing milling chucks," said a company spokesperson.

The Haimer TD 2009 Comfort balancing machine is suitable for tools and rotors.

The tool holder integrated Cool Flash System ensures that through the holder coolant is reliably fed onto each flute of the cutting tool - even at high RPMs and little pressure, according to Haimer.

Haimer GmbH showed at EMO 2013 its newest developments in high precision tool holders and practical machine technology for shrinking and balancing. Highlights included new high-performance collet chucks as well as the Cool-Flash system, which integrates coolant delivery through the chuck for effective cooling of the cutting tool.

"With the reinforced, vibration dampening Power Collet Chucks, the user has a flexible solution as it can also use standard ER collets," said a company spokesperson. "The Haimer chuck, together with its high performance collets, can result in particularly high precision for demanding milling applications. The Power Collet Chucks are also available with the Safe-Lock system, which uses an extra pull-out safeguard for extreme roughing applications.

"Cutting tool producers such as ATI Stellram, Data Flute, Emuge Franken, HAM, Helical, Kennametal, Sandvik Coromant, Seco Tools, Sumitomo, Walter and Widia are all licensed partners that have the Safe-Lock interface in their standard product offerings.

"The tool holder integrated Cool Flash System ensures that through the holder coolant is reliably fed onto each flute of the cutting tool - even with high RPMs and little pressure."

Haimer also presented its complete Power Clamp Series inductive heat shrink machines for high-speed steel and solid carbide tools. The Power Clamp Nano features a horizontal set-up for small tools, and the Power Clamp Premium Plus offers two integrated coils for cutting tools from 3 to 50 mm.

The Haimer Tool Dynamic Balancing System is designed for tool adapters, precision tools and grinding wheels and is simple to operate. Haimer featured it in five different variations: from the TD 1002 Balancer, a table unit designed to be simple and cost effective, all the way up to its fully automatic, CNC controlled Tool Dynamic Automatic.

Haimer also unveiled two world premieres for a new product segment in the field of modular machining and HSC/HPC.

Live machining applications were showcased on a MILLTAP 700 from DMG / Mori Seiki using Haimer tool holders.
