Green Valley Manufacturing, Inc. (GVMI) specializes in designing and building mold and die handling equipment, including extreme capacity in-plant transporters. The GVMI Titan brand mold and die handling equipment is designed to improve safety and efficiency in production environments.
"GVMI designs and builds to order based on the exact needs of the end user," said a company spokesperson. "The size of the transporter is typically just larger than the footprint of the mold or die itself. The compact transporter size makes maneuvering the heavy molds throughout a production environment much safer than with a bulky, counter-weighted lift truck."
The Titan 2876 is a 90,000 lb capacity mold transporter designed specifically for an automotive parts supplier. This unit delivers injection molds between the molding department and tool room or shipping bay. Features include walk-along operator pendant controller, internal batteries, 2-wheel drive and 2-wheel steering, low-profile design, strobes, audible musical alarms, collision avoidance sensors and safety bumpers.
The walk-along pendant control provides the operator the ability to view the unit from three sides for improved visibility during transport. In the event the operator does not see an obstruction in the pathway, the vehicle contains both physical bumpers that activate the E-stop circuit, as well infrared collision avoidance sensors that stop cart motion if an object is detected in the field of view.
Other examples of GVMI build-to-order mold/die transporters include the Titan 2759 and Titan 2892. Features on these units include a ride-on station on Titan 2759 (capacity 33,000 lbs) and a high retaining wall on the Titan 2892 (capacity 30,000 lbs) for securing tall molds during transit.
