CERATIZIT USA's Pentron CS drill with cartridge system allows shops to drill holes up to 96 mm in diameter. The drill system features a modular design and consists of a base body, an internal cartridge and an external cartridge, and a particular diameter range can be accommodated with a holder and a suitable internal cartridge.

"The tool's interface improves force transmission for optimum machining results as well as a greater degree of accuracy, higher cutting speeds and stronger clamping force," said a company spokesperson. "Because the system is modular, it ensures process security and reliability while minimizing tool costs."

Shops adapt Pentron's external cartridge to the nominal outer diameter, and indexable inserts for the system are available from a standard portfolio. The tool is applicable to universal and specialized applications.
