KOTEM, a Quality Vision International (QVI) company, has announced the release of version 4 of SmartProfile, its 3-D GD&T analysis software.
SmartProfile is dimensional analysis software used by metrology professionals worldwide to evaluate measurement data for GD&T compliance. It provides fast, accurate analysis of measurements compared to a part's CAD model, and can be used to confirm GD&T compliance for shape, form, profile, orientation and location on any rigid part. SmartProfile complies with current GD&T standards - ASME Y14.5-1994, ASME Y14.5-2009 and ISO 1101 - including multi-tier position and profile tolerances.
The new SmartProfile edition offers a variety of new features including:
- Compliance with all major standards:
- Powerful GD&T engine offers a choice of ASME Y.14.5M-1994, ASME Y14.5-2009 or ISO 1101, as well as the Least Squares technique.
- Feature constructions: Construct new features and relationships from a complete library of geometries.
- Feature Control Frame Editor: Supporting multi-tier tolerances, complex compound datums and standard specific symbols.
- New Productivity Tools:
- Multi-Thread architecture for high performance with very large point clouds
- Filters - pre-defined filters for failed items and tolerance type as well as custom filters
- Scripting Wizard - automate common routines by answering simple questions
- Import or replace popular native CAD formats, including IGES, STEP, STL and VDA files.
- Reporting: Choice of Graphical or Text reports or output to statistical analysis software
- Optional shop floor manufacturing assistant:
- Import work groups from CAM
- Set up alignments to match machining processes
- Visualize tolerance status under functional GD&T datums and machining datums
- Clearly see corrective actions needed to comply with GD&T.
