High-Torque Tilting Rotary Table
February 1, 2017
"With the highest clamping torque in its class, the new Kitagawa TT150 Series tilting rotary table from Tecnara Tooling Systems offers Kitagawa durability and high production capacity," said a Tecnara spokesperson. The TT150 is compact and versatile, and designed to be robust under demanding conditions.
The compact dual axis design permits any compound angle and eliminates additional set-up. The compact design of the stationary tilting motor cases increases versatility and is suitable for #30 and #40 MC.
The TT150 features high clamping force. Motor covers are air-purged to keep out moisture and foreign materials. Hydraulic four-port and air one-port rotary joints with simplified piping arrangements are available.
Kitagawa rotary tables feature large diameter worm gears to increase engagement area, thus decreasing pressure on contact areas. This minimizes wear even at the high torque levels available with the TT150. Wear is further reduced by a new worm gear material with a high silicone aluminum content and an extra-large cross roller bearing designed to eliminate radial and thrust play, thus preventing displacement under heavy loads.
The TT150's clamping torque is 285 ft-lbs. (350 Nm) at the rotating axis and 406 ft-lbs. (500 Nm) at the tilting axis. Options include built-in rotary joint and various kinds of power chucks and work grippers. The TT150 can be used with Kitagawa air chucks up to 6" in diameter.
