Large Scale Sinker EDM Machines
February 1, 2017
Now available from ONA are one and two head large scale sinker modular EDM machines. The modular machines allow the user to design a custom machine at the cost of a standard machine. In all cases, users can choose the X, Y and Z travels of their choice. For the QX10/TQX10 sinker EDMs, 40 different configurations are available.
Manifold configurations of XYZ travels:
- X travel: 1,500, 2,000 or 3,000 mm / 59.0", 78.7" or 118.1"
- Y travel: 750, 1,000 or 1,500 mm / 29.5", 39. 4" or 59.0"
- Z travel: 650, 800 or 1,000 mm / 25.6", 31.5" or 39.4".
Independent CNC generators command the one or two heads. The volumetric compensation function in the CNC is designed to provide high levels of long-term precision. The two head model allows the possibility of eroding two cavities simultaneously and independently in a large workpiece.
The machine is a rigid mechanical structure of stabilized fine-grained cast iron blended with graphite. It is a fixed bedframe machine that allows workpieces up to 25,000 kg. (55,000 lbs.)
Standard on the series are: super fine finishing power supply (finishes to VDI=0), long life filtering system (min. 10,000 working hours), fully automated filtering unit, erosion expert system and a remote control.
ONA also offers wire large scale modular EDM machines. Between the wire and sinker models there is a choice of 60 different configurations.
