"While machine monitoring is a big topic on manufacturing shop floors, computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) solutions can often go overlooked," said a Shop Floor Automations spokesperson. A CMMS is a system used by maintenance departments to track preventive and predictive maintenance related tasks and asset history. Shop Floor Automations is an authorized reseller of Bigfoot CMMS, a software conceptualized by Smartware Group.
With Bigfoot CMMS, users can track repair costs, assign work orders, manage purchasing/inventory, run trend analysis reports, manage spare parts inventories, track safety events and manage OSHA required documents. The features are designed to lessen unplanned downtime and minimize operational costs while getting the most out of maintenance staff.
Bigfoot CMMS can integrate with Scytec DataXchange for data collection purposes. Automatic reminders can also be set up through Bigfoot CMMS, as well as a request form, advanced reporting and in depth analysis.
This scalable CMMS can be configured for any size business. It can be accessed on a mobile app that is available for iOS or Android users.
"Bigfoot CMMS will soon only be available on the cloud, which may be outside the comfort zone of some users," said the spokesperson. "However, aside from making the software easier to use and ultimately more affordable, business and government advisor firm McKinsey & Company stated that 80% of large North American companies have embraced or plan to implement cloud technology, so this change is a natural transition."
