Thompson Receives Gold Micrometer Award

The Precision Machined Products Association has honored Jonathan "Jake" Thompson, President of Fairchild Auto-Mated Parts, Inc., with its Gold Micrometer Award. This award acknowledges individuals who have served the contract manufacturing industry for over 40 years. Thompson was presented with his Gold Micrometer at the association's 2016 annual meeting held at Hilton Head Island, SC.
Thompson began his career in 1973 working as a machinist for the Hartford Special Machinery Company. After receiving his degree in mechanical engineering, he worked as an Applications Engineer for the Torrington Company designing anti-friction bearings for a variety of devices, including lawn mower transmissions, windmills and large draglines used in the mining/excavation industries. In 1982, he joined Fairchild Auto-Mated Parts, Inc., heading up sales and engineering and then becoming President in 2006.
During his 34 years working at Fairchild, Thompson has chaired the Technical Programming Committee and the Precision Machining Technology Show and has been the recipient of the PMPA Service award.
