TCI Powder Coatings Names Director of Marketing and Segment Strategy

TCI Powder Coatings, a subsidiary of RPM International Inc., named Thomas G. Whalen as Director of Marketing and Segment Strategy. Whalen brings over 25 years of experience in the industrial coatings market to this new position with TCI. For the past 2 years, he was with PPG Industries as the Global Business Director, Consumer Electronics and Performance Glass Coatings. Prior to that, Whalen was Vice President of Liquid and Mirror Coatings Units and led two global businesses with Spraylat, which was acquired by PPG. Before joining Spraylat, he worked at Valspar with an increasing level of management experience, including Global Segment Director. Whalen started his coatings career with Moline Paint in 1986 in sales and held senior positions including International Business Director.

Whalen is a graduate of Illinois State University with a B.S. in International Business. He resides in Frankfort, IL, with his wife Gloria and their three children; Abby, Daniel and Carolyn.
