Developing a Build Processor for Industrial Applications
January 1, 2016
Materialise NV, a provider of additive manufacturing software and of sophisticated 3-D printing solutions in the medical and industrial markets is building partnerships with machine manufacturers to bridge the gap between 3-D software and a wide range of 3-D printers. Its latest partner is Additive Industries, a new player in the additive manufacturing market that focuses on a variety of industries: aerospace, automotive, medical, high-tech equipment and more. Additive Industries will offer a modular 3-D metal printing system to high-end and demanding industrial markets.
Additive Industries' team is launching its own integrated metal additive manufacturing system, the MetalFAB1. "Equipped with automated build plate handling and in-line heat treatment, MetalFAB1 will allow Additive Industries to redefine the metal 3-D metal printing industry. The partnership with Materialise to develop a customized version of the Build Processor software supports this goal," said a company spokesperson.
"The Additive Industries Build Processor will simplify the 3-D printing process for everyone with a MetalFAB1 machine," continued the spokesperson. "The powerful and user-friendly software will facilitate the communication of data to the machine and will provide users with a clear overview of their print jobs. Its state-of-the-art slicing algorithm will help users to handle large design files."
