European Built Oil Country Lathe Series

Summit Machine Tool Manufacturing L.L.C. has announced the European built 39" Oil Country Hollow Spindle Lathe series. These lathes are designed to provide precision and reliability required for demanding applications. The Summit Euro 39" Oil Country Lathes are available in center distances from 60" to 240", with spindle bores of 10", 12" and 14" to cover a wide range of workpieces.
The quick-change gearbox is designed for easy selection of inch, metric and module threads in a wide range of sizes. The headstock is designed with straight cut final drive gears that provide quiet and efficient operation through the full range of spindle speeds. The huge forged spindles are mounted in precision angular contact spindle bearings for axial and radial load.
The bed of the Summit Euro 39 series is constructed from high grade alloyed cast iron, normalized and aged to achieve maximum stability. The bed is also designed for rear chip discharge and the lathe comes standard with chip and coolant pans for chip removal. This lathe series features castings that are heavily ribbed for rigidity and vibration dampening. The 22" bed ways are hardened and precision ground to provide accuracy and long life.
The Summit Euro 39 Oil Country Lathes come standard with front and rear chucks with sliding chuck guards, steady rest, follow rest, complete coolant system with chip pans, full length splash guard and a taper attachment incremented in both degrees and inches per foot. These lathes are also fitted with a hydraulic rapid tool retract device designed for semi-automatic threading.
