Toolmex Lathes, the exclusive USA importer for TUR-MN/CNC European built lathes, has released a line of manual ply cycle lathes from HACO-FAT in Poland. The TUR-SC servo conventional lathes feature a manual style carriage and a large interactive display screen and keyboard station. Toolmex European TUR lathes can be found in most heavy industries with demanding applications such as power generation, transportation, machinery manufacturing, print, oil and gas, foundry, steel and mining.
This TUR-SC features a semi-manual servo conventional set-up for precision toolrooms to large machine shops. Friendly to both manual machinists and CNC beginners, TUR-SC lathes utilizes variable speed headstock, variable feed carriage, DRO (digital readout), four-way joystick, manual QC toolpost (one or four-way), four-way rapids and actual spindle speed displayed.
In addition, for increased productivity, TUR-SC lathes offer: constant service speed, ball screws, servo feed motors, two range auto shifting ZF gearbox, wider spindle speed range 5-1,750 RPM, full keyboard, large 8.4" color display, absolute encoders and simple one-step cycles. Standard cycles include: longitudinal turning, facing, constant surface speed, boring and straight threading, allowing saving up to 10 screens per cycle. Optional cycles package: taper turning, taper threading and thread repair. Any cycle is easily entered on one screen by completing 4-10 fill in box.
TUR-SC European built lathes are available in a wide range of swings and lengths: 22", 25" or 28" swing over bed, x 40", 78", 118" or 157" between centers. Big 4.1" spindle bore, 15/20 HP main motor and heavy duty tailstock (MT5 with 3.9" dia. quill) handle max part weight up to 4,000 lbs. between centers.
These lathes utilize a flat bed design, TRI-V ways, allowing for tighter tolerances when turning or boring. Inverted cross slide dovetail and heavier cross slide/saddle offer additional support and performance. A quick change camlock spindle nose allows for faster chuck changes. "An electronic taper tuning option assures high accuracy and faster taper without the difficult procedure to normal taper turning attachment and backlash errors," said a company spokesperson. To keep things simple for manual machinist, the TUR-SC does not have typical CNC tool offsets or tool library. Toolmex TUR-SC lathes haves a wide range options including: three, four or six jaw chucks, follow and steady rests, toolpost, centers, boring bar attachment, chip conveyor and more.
