Vertical Machining Center for Heavy Cutting Jobs



Sharp Industries, Inc. has introduced its line of Box Way Vertical Machining Centers. The initial two models are SV-3320SX and SV-4020SX. Their travels are: 33" x 20" x 22" and 40" x 20" x 22". Features of the machines include 20 HP motor, 12,000 RPM spindle with spindle oil chiller system and 30 tools ATC.

These models are equipped with FANUC Oi-MD control that has 8.4" color LCD monitor, Manual Guide Oi and rigid tapping function. The control panel comes standard with embedded Ethernet, USB port, RS232 interface and remote jog handle (MPG).

The CAT-40 spindle is equipped with air blast system for tool change, air blow function for cutting dry and flood coolant system for heavy cutting operations. The heavily ribbed casting with hardened and ground box ways on the X-, Y- and Z-axes is designed for rigidity and vibration free operation under heavy-duty hard metalcutting conditions.

Machine construction includes all Meehanite cast iron structural components, precision hand scraping on all structural components, double anchored, pre-tensioned double nut ball screws, metal way covers on all three axes and full metal enclosures with removable large side doors. Machines come standard with flood coolant system with 63 gallon roll out tank, coolant gun, air gun and heat exchange system for electric cabinet. Optional items include coolant through spindle prepped, spindle chiller, chip conveyor and rotary table.
