Transor Filter Celebrates 30 Years and Announces Move
August 1, 2013
On the 30th anniversary of Transor Filter's founding, business partners Irv Kaage (President) and Sune Backman (VP) announced the company's move to a new facility. "Over the years we have expanded several times," said Kaage, "and now, this new 25,000 sq. ft. facility will allow us to be even more efficient in producing quick deliveries to our customers." The new facility will be located in Elk Grove, IL, only one mile away from the previous home office.
"This was important for us so that there was no inconvenience to our employees," said Kaage. "With our expansion into the grinding industry and cutting tool field in 2000, our business grew very quickly. Producing large systems that could handle over 20 grinders for the Asian market stretched our capability. We made it work but realized that a new facility was clearly needed. As we broadened our market to include South America, we realized the time was right for a move," Kaage said.
The new facility will include expanded office space, manufacturing and assembly, as well as warehousing of the filter components. "The new facility will have an enlarged R&D area which will help us bring several new developments we have been working on to market," Backman said. "Thirty years is a long time to be partners, but we complement each other and that makes for a successful business," Kaage said.
