PowerSource Appointed Romi Distributor for Oklahoma, Arkansas, Southern Kansas Area

PowerSource Machine Tools has been chosen as the exclusive distributor of Romi in Oklahoma, Arkansas and the Southern Kansas area. "With this addition to our line of machine tools, we are quite confident that we can provide our customers with the finest quality equipment available," said Hugh Dunagan, President, PowerSource Machine Tools.

"Our customers look to us for solutions to increase productivity in engineering and manufacturing, and all of these Romi products help companies save time and increase accuracy in their processes," said Ray Chronister, Applications Engineer.

According to the company, highlights of the Romi machine tools include:

  • Romi GL machines feature massive headstock, bed and carriage assemblies for heavy-duty cutting. Their slant bed design absorbs cutting forces while allowing better chip fall. Linear ways improve the machine's axis positioning accuracy, smoothness and speed - eliminating the slip and stick prevalent with box way systems. These lathes are especially designed for high production environments with a balance of speed, power and precision.
  • Romi's new C-Series lathes are designed to provide value, operating flexibility and productivity. "A C-Series lathe can help shops of any skill level produce high quality parts with minimal labor costs," said a company spokesperson. "There is no reason for shops to turn down work because of a shortage of skilled CNC machinists. With the C420, Romi has put the skill into the machine, software and controls. If you are getting into CNC for the first time, our C-Series lathes are ideal for you. They have an easy-to-use control that graphically portrays each step in the machining process. And they can be operated in Manual, Cycles and Teach Mode, depending on the skill of the operator."
  • Romi D-Series VMCs are intended to provide high chip removal capability and high precision for improved productivity. They are designed to operate in high production environments as well as in tool rooms. Romi D-Series machining centers can be provided with carousel type or swing arm type automatic tool changers for enhanced flexibility. Both GE Fanuc (0i M and 21 M) and Siemens 828 CNC controls are offered.

"PowerSource Machine Tools is committed to supplying quality machinery, both new and used, along with outstanding service to our customers," said Dunagan. "Our purpose is to gain the trust and loyalty of our customers, suppliers and employees. PowerSource works hard to meet our customers' specific needs. This includes buying of new and used equipment and helping to sell used equipment."
