Exact Metrology Purchases Laser Scanner

Exact Metrology, Inc. announced the addition of a Leica Geosystems' ScanStation p20 Laser Scanner to its line-up of portable metrology equipment. "The ScanStation p20 is an ultra-high speed, high accuracy, long-range scanner ideal for capturing High-Definition Survey data or when ultra-high density, full-dome scan data is needed," said a company spokesperson.

"The Leica Geosystems ScanStation p20 gives us the ability to more precisely and rapidly scan larger range applications including roadways, plant environments, natural formations and building exteriors, as well as larger man-made objects including aircraft, ships and oil platforms," said Dean Solberg, Principal of Exact Metrology, Inc. "Plus, the p20 has a 'Check and Adjust' feature, new to the industry, that can maintain the accuracy of the scanner without servicing, ensuring our customers get an undeniably accurate scan every time."

The ScanStation p20 is a versatile scanner, with a long range (120 m at 18 percent reflectivity), full 360 degree x 270 degree field-of-view and high scan speed (1M pts/sec). The ScanStation p20 also can operate in temperature ranges from -20 degrees C to 50 degrees C.

Exact Metrology, Inc. is a full-service measurement services company that provides on-site inspection, reverse engineering, non-contact laser scanning, and 2D/3D digitizing services as well as contract programming, software training, part programming, and measurement equipment implementation. "Utilizing the latest in portable measurement technologies and with decades of combined experience, Exact's application engineers can handle everything from small parts to parts over several thousand meters," said a company spokesperson. Exact Metrology also sells, services and implements metrology equipment solutions from companies including Artec, ROMER, Leica Geosystems, NDI, Wenzel, Breuckmann, Surphaser and InnovMetric.

Exact Metrology will be providing long-range contract metrology services with the ScanStation p20 Laser Scanner and will also be offering the scanner for rental.
