DISCOVER MORE WITH MAZAK Midwest Showcases Solutions for Job Shops

Mazak will highlight its extensive range of machine tool technology and automation designed to boost job shop production and profitability during its two-day DISCOVER MORE WITH MAZAK Midwest event May 5-6 at the Mazak Midwest Technology Center in Schaumburg, IL. The company has a long-standing commitment to job shops and the rigorous demands they face, and this event will allow them to drive results with Mazak innovations in 2026, the company reported.

Attendees will experience live, real-world cutting demonstrations on Mazak machines, along with automation and integrated technologies focused on increasing throughput, improving process consistency, and reducing set-up time. The company will highlight its machine tool portfolio, including Multi-Tasking, full 5-axis machining, horizontal and vertical machining, CNC turning, Swiss-style production turning, and additive manufacturing. Visitors will have the opportunity to meet with Mazak application engineers and industry specialists to discuss specific production challenges and implementation strategies.

Mazak's Multi-Tasking technology will take center stage at the event with a lineup that includes the INTEGREX i-150, INTEGREX j-200S NEO, HQR-250MSY, QTE-200MSY, and QRX-50MSY.

Designed for shops machining small, square workpieces, the INTEGREX i-150 features a 6" chuck and compact footprint that helps maximize floor space while delivering efficient, high-precision performance.

The INTEGREX j-200S NEO, HQR-250MSY, QTE-200MSY, and QRX-50MSY all offer Mazak's DONE IN ONE part processing, enabling manufacturers to move from raw material to finished component in a single set-up on one machine. Equipped with second turning spindles, milling capability, and Y-axis functionality, these machines streamline production, improve accuracy, and significantly reduce cycle times by minimizing part handling and set-up changes, according to the company.

The INTEGREX j-200S NEO is engineered for high-performance productivity. Its second spindle enables precise phase alignment for parts requiring indexed machining, reducing noncut time while enhancing machining accuracy. The machine also features high-torque integral spindles for aggressive material removal, increased spindle speeds, increased positioning accuracy, and expanded torque capacity, along with a larger, front-accessible tool magazine and extended tool length capability to support more complex applications.

The QTE-200MSY features a headstock design that eliminates belts and pulleys for reduced maintenance and improved part quality, while the overall machine construction minimizes vibration to enable high-accuracy machining and high-quality surface finishes.

The QRX 50MSY 2-turret CNC turning center allows for a wide range of automation options, including bar feeders and workpiece unloaders, for maximized productivity. Each of the machine's turrets provide 12 tool positions.

The event will feature Mazak's VARIAXIS i-700T full 5-axis machine designed for multisided machining of complex 3D part surfaces. The machine features a turning capability that reduces set-up time, shortens production lead times and saves on fixtures and floorspace while minimizing stacked errors associated with multiple machine processing.

The HCN-4000 NEO joins the lineup as Mazak's next-generation HMC engineered for high-accuracy, high-productivity performance. Designed to handle everything from high-volume production to mixed-part processing, the machine offers flexibility and precision designed to meet today's manufacturing requirements.

Shops focused on high-output production of small, precise parts will see Mazak's SYNCREX Swiss-Type Production Turning machines in action, including the SYNCREX 38/9, 25/9X and 12/8. The 9-axis SYNCREX 38/9, the largest in Mazak's Swiss lineup, delivers full 5-axis contouring for complex geometries in a single set-up, reducing cycle times while maintaining accuracy. The compact SYNCREX 25/9X provides 5-axis capability with flexible tooling configurations to support high-mix, tight-tolerance production. For small-diameter components, the SYNCREX 12/8 features a 15,000-RPM main spindle and 12,000-RPM sub-spindle, enabling higher-speed machining for improved accuracy, improved surface finishes, and faster cycle times.

Mazak will showcase its Kentucky-built Ez Series of milling and turning machines, including the VC-Ez 20X 5-axis, the VC-Ez 26, and VC-Ez 32 VMCs and the QT-Ez 10MY CNC turning center with Multi-Tasking capability. Designed to help shops expand capacity and elevate production performance, the Ez Series combines compact footprints with streamlined programming and fast set-up capability. The result is greater throughput, process flexibility, and efficient floor space utilization for shops ready to scale operations. The VC-Ez vertical machining centers are now available with the optional Mazak MAZATROL SmoothG CNC, which features model-assisted programming to simplify part creation and reduce programming time.

To round out the event, Mazak will demonstrate its VC-500A/5X AM HWD HYBRID Multi-Tasking machine for manufacturers evaluating additive integration. The 5-axis platform combines additive and subtractive processing through Hot Wire Deposition (HWD) technology, which precisely melts and deposits metal wire onto a base material to build part features or near-net shapes. Components are then finish-machined to final dimensions on the same machine, reducing set-ups, material waste, and overall lead times.

Every Mazak machine is backed by Mazak MPower Complete Customer Care, its comprehensive machine support program. In addition, Mazak Capital Equipment Financing (MCEF) allows shops to easily move their manufacturing forward with one-stop, factory-direct financing on Mazak equipment.
