meviy, the on-demand custom parts manufacturing service developed by MISUMI Group, Inc., has announced the immediate availability of 5052 aluminum and 316L stainless steel for CNC turning, expanding material options for corrosion-resistant and application-specific turned parts.
The new materials enable engineers and purchasers to specify the most suitable alloy for demanding environments without altering existing procurement workflows. Both materials are available through meviy's digital manufacturing platform, which provides fast quotations and reliable delivery schedules directly from 3D CAD data.
5052 aluminum offers excellent corrosion resistance, high formability, and good weldability, making it widely used in marine and automotive applications. CNC turned parts in 5052 aluminum support standard aluminum surface treatments, including anodizing and electroless nickel plating.
316L stainless steel is a low-carbon, nonmagnetic austenitic stainless steel with excellent corrosion resistance, commonly used in industrial, medical, and semiconductor applications. meviy supports passivation for 316L stainless steel via manual quotation to enhance resistance to corrosion, contamination, and wear. Maximum length is 300 mm, with diameter limits consistent with other stainless steel materials.
By expanding its CNC turning material lineup, meviy reduces the need for material substitutions and enables more custom part requirements to be fulfilled through a single, on-demand manufacturing platform.
