SafanDarley North America Announces Personnel Appointments

Matt Garbarino

Brandon Bigelow

Alec Damon

SafanDarley North America, the exclusive sales, service, and support organization for SafanDarley in North America, has announced several personnel appointments.

Matt Garbarino

Matt Garbarino has been appointed President. Under Garbarino's leadership, the company will focus on putting SafanDarley's advanced fabrication technologies into the hands of more manufacturers while further strengthening relationships with its growing customer base and strategic industry partners.

"SafanDarley is recognized globally for engineering excellence in servo-electronic press brakes, hydraulic press brakes, shears, and automated bending solutions," said Garbarino. "Our responsibility is to ensure that current and future customers experience that excellence every day, from the first conversation through installation, training, and long-term support. And I am thrilled to play a role in that."

Brandon Bigelow

Brandon Bigelow has been promoted to Service Manager. In this role, he will lead the company's service operations, including expanding field service capabilities, strengthening technical support processes, mentoring service personnel, and ensuring customers receive fast, consistent, and technically precise support that maximizes equipment uptime and long-term performance.

Previously, Bigelow served as the company's service coordinator, where he centralized service scheduling, improved coordination across North America, and strengthened communication between the distributor network and internal teams.

A United States Marine Corps veteran, Bigelow served in Afghanistan before completing his military service in 2015. He began his civilian career as an electrician at Camp Lejeune, NC, developing expertise in high- and low-voltage systems, variable frequency drives (VFDs), PLC logic, and device communications.

Bigelow earned an associate degree in welding and manufacturing from Waukesha County Technical College and gained hands-on fabrication experience as a welder and fabricator. His tenure with SafanDarley began in 2019 as an applications & service engineer, where he worked directly with North American customers.

Garbarino explained that Brandon's promotion to Service Coordinator marked his transition into formal leadership, and that his advancement to Service Manager reflects both his performance and the company's focus on strengthening its service organization.

"As we continue to grow our installed base and expand our presence across North America, it is critical that our service organization keeps pace," Garbarino said. "Brandon brings the technical expertise, leadership discipline, and customer-first mindset we need to support that growth. He understands what our customers deal with every day and knows how to put the right systems in place.

Alec Damon

Alec Damon has been named Robotic Applications Engineer.

Damon began his career with SafanDarley North America as an intern through Waukesha County Technical College. Following a successful internship and strong performance in the field, he has now transitioned into a full-time role, becoming the youngest member of the company's growing technical team.

Damon will work closely with customers to assess automation and robotics requirements, support system design and integration, perform installations, and provide ongoing technical and application support. His role also includes collaborating with internal engineering and service teams to ensure each automation project delivers measurable productivity, quality, and return-on-investment improvements.

Garbarino explained that extending formal training with real-world experience provides a unique foundation that benefits the individual, the company, and ultimately its customers.

"Alec is a prime example of the value we place on cooperative hands-on education. His progression from intern to full-time robotic applications engineer reflects both his work ethic and our commitment to developing talent from within," said Garbarino. "Alec brings strong technical skills, a genuine curiosity about customer challenges, and a hands-on mindset that aligns with our company culture. We are excited to welcome him to the team and look forward to his continued growth and contribution to our automation strategy."
