Factory Demo Day Connects Manufacturing Community

Tom Onsrud, President/CEO, shares the latest technologies with a group of customers on the factory floor during the 2024 Factory Demo Day.

Thomas Hazel, Application Engineer, shows customers the expansive capabilities of Onsrud's new control interface, designed to make running a machine even easier.

C.R. Onsrud's 5-axis G-Series CNC machine is used to demonstrate the value of CNC technology for creating a boat center console.

C.R. Onsrud, manufacturer of American-made CNC machining centers, recently held a Factory Demo Day that brought together its CNC manufacturing team, CNC vendors and over 200 prospective customers and distributors.

Visitors got a chance to tour the factory while production was in full swing and also had a sneak peek at the company's new 67,000-sq.-ft. addition. Included were live, up close demonstrations of a 5-axis machine carving a boat center console, a 3-axis machine with routing and sawing capabilities and CNC machines demonstrating their versatility by processing wood, aluminum and plastic. The company also showcased its X-Series, specially engineered for aluminum linear profile extrusions.

C.R. Onsrud also sponsored educational seminars about its latest technologies. The company's CNC experts were accessible throughout the day to talk about ways to streamline production and to field any questions. Attendees also had the opportunity to speak to third-party CNC automation and tooling vendors.

"The factory is really incredible to see-very clean and organized," said a manufacturer from Virginia. "The demos were truly impressive. A C.R. Onsrud machinist readily and kindly answered a question I had that could improve my output. I learned a lot and feel I can reach out to them anytime."

"It is a lot of fun for us and a great networking opportunity for all of us in the manufacturing community," said Thomas Tuck, Regional Sales Manager. "We get to hear about challenges manufacturers are facing in different industries and discuss solutions together."
