Kitamura's Mycenter-4XV is designed with the flexibility of today's job shop in mind.
Mycenter-4XV is equipped with a 19.7" x 44.1" table and 40.2" x 20.1" x 20.1" XYZ travels, making it suited for large single workpieces, multifixtured components or additional axes implementation. A 40T ATC provides smooth tool changes and offers greater flexibility for a wider variety of jobs, boosting productivity and machining profits. A powerful, high speed, dual contact, 15,000 RPM, 41 HP spindle system offers rigidity and stiffness for demanding cutting conditions and handles hard-to-machine materials with ease, the company reported.
The Mycenter-4XV features heavy duty cross linear guides, fine pitch ballscrews, high grade servo motors, feedback encoder and Kitamura's high precision assembly technology, which allows for high accuracy and smooth motion on the XYZ axes. High grade Meehanite cast construction provides optimum damping capacity and vibration absorption. Kitamura's exclusive intelligent advanced control system (IAC) consists of a series of strategically located sensors and machine efficiency monitors that work together to control the effects of heat displacement in order to ensure continuous accuracy in machining. ±1 µm repeatability is achievable.
A large ergonomic work envelope with wide door openings makes for easy load and unload of parts while high speed rapid feedrates of 2,047 IPM (XY), 1,890 IPM (Z) boost throughput. Standard base wash system, internal chip augers, covered XY axes and a scraper type chip conveyor offer excellent chip management, keeping the workspace free of chips and contaminants. The flexible conveyor configuration allows for the placement on either the left- or right-hand side of the machine.
"Equipped with Kitamura Arumatik-Mi Pro control, the Mycenter-4XV comes fully loaded with many productivity boosting convenience features that are considered optional on competitive machines," said a company spokesperson. "A large 15 in. touchscreen color LCD, 2 MB of memory, high-speed, high-accuracy control with 8190 block look-ahead and 4,500 block per second processing speeds, and Super Smooth Surface (SSS) control are just a few of the many standard features incorporated to streamline the machining process for outstanding part quality with exceptional surface finishes."
The spokesperson added, "Kitamura's compact V-Series VMCs offer a wide and versatile model range from 3-axis verticals to 5-axis (4+1) configurations with integrated trunnion tables, offering the rigidity, accuracy and stability needed to productively machine complex part geometries."
