In 2015, Bourn & Koch celebrated its 40th year in business; but the company has lineage dating back much further. In fact, 125+ years of parallel OEM records (from 1889 to present day) are being carefully preserved in the climate-controlled Bourn & Koch facility in Rockford, IL.
The valuable archives consist of all original assembly drawings, bills of material, electrical diagrams, hydraulic schematics, detail prints and spare parts inventories from over 30 American-made classic machine tool brands. The list of brands includes: Acme, American Tool Works, Barber-Colman, Blanchard, Brown & Sharpe, Bullard, Conomatic, DeVlieg, Fellows, Jones & Lamson, King, Mattison, Motch, Rockford Machine Tool, Springfield and White Sundstrand - all brands made in the USA. Eight of the brands' records date back to the 1800s; six are from the turn of the 20th century.
Over the last four decades, through numerous acquisitions, Bourn & Koch has become the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) for these legacy machine tools. "Bourn & Koch supports all of these brands with quality OEM repair parts, rebuild and retrofit services, technical support and field service to keep `the machines that built American industry' running for decades to come," said the spokesperson.
Bourn & Koch also manufactures new vertical turning and grinding machines, horizontal boring mills, transfer lines and gear hobbers and shapers sold under the brand names Bourn & Koch, Fellows, Motch, Springfield, Blanchard and DeVlieg. "The new machines built by Bourn & Koch are an improvement on the time-tested designs of each vintage machine tool brand," said the spokesperson.

"The company specializes in building on the structural rigidity and power of the old workhorse machines - adding even higher horsepower, higher torque, higher RPM and modernizing the machines with improvements for the next generation without sacrificing quality."
