Additive Engineering Solutions (AES), located in Akron, OH, will host a free educational seminar focused on large scale 3-D printing and its place in manufacturing. The one-day event will be held on June 23, with separate sessions in the morning and then a repeat in the afternoon. Lunch and refreshments will be served.
"Additive manufacturing (AM) and its associated processes are being revolutionized," said a company spokesperson. "This new technology is paving the way for manufacturing methods previously thought to be impractical, if not impossible." AES will be presenting a working example of the process utilizing multiple solutions from companies such as Cincinnati Incorporated BAAM (Big Area Additive Manufacturing) 3-D printing technology, Fagor Automation CNC systems and Quintax 5-axis CNC routers.
Speakers will share their insights on the latest CNC and 3-D printing technology. Speakers and topics include:

- Rick Neff, Additive Manufacturing Product and Sales Manager, Cincinnati Incorporated - Question Everything, BAAM Technology and the Future of 3-D Printing; Cincinnati Incorporated's approach to the AM market and associated technology
- Jan Olinger, National Sales Manager, Quintax Machining Centers - The evolution of Quintax and the 5-axis capabilities utilizing the Fagor 8065 CNC system as provided to AES for finishing printed parts
- Art Gugulski, Sales Manager, Fagor Automation Corporation - The latest technology in CNC control systems.

- Faster production: Up to 80 lbs. of material deposited per hour vs. 1/2 lb. per hour
- Printing scale: 12' x 5.5' x 6' is 21 times larger than the next largest printer
- Open source: Capable of using thousands of polymers for printing.
After printing, AES' printed parts are moved to a Quintax 5-axis CNC router equipped with a high-speed Fagor 8065 CNC control system for accurate part finishing. The industries that AES will serve with this technology include aerospace and defense, automotive, energy, marine and prototype tools and molds and parts production. AES services include design engineering, materials development, printing and machining along with coating and finishing.
