Rapid Feedrate VMC for the Mold Industry

The YCM NTV 158B Series vertical machining center (VMC) features high rapid feedrates and a large Y-axis specially designed for moldmakers and job shops. "The Z-axis dual ball screw drive system and large roller type guideways on all axes ensure high accuracies at high feedrates. The machine is suitable for various heavy cutting applications," said a company spokesperson.

With its YCM patented T-base structure, the machine footprint can be reduced effectively while maintaining an overhang-free table movement that is supported by a rigid base to provide dynamic accuracy with heavy loads on the table. YCM's BIG PLUS IDD 10,000 RPM spindle provides inline direct transmission to maximize both spindle and tool life, even under harsh working environments, and to produce fine part finishes.

"A high speed axial movement with roller type guideways provides dynamic accuracy, durability and rigidity," said the spokesperson. "The cast double nut high precision Tsubaki ball screws are directly driven by a servomotor to efficiently eliminate axial backlash and vibration. The NTV 158B is equipped with a loaded FANUC control with all features required in the moldmaking industry, including maximum look-ahead, spindle and tool load monitoring and more."
