Design and Programming Software in One

The TruTops Boost software integrates all design and programming capabilities in one solution - from drawings to NC code. This includes everything from part design and data import to nesting and even writing NC programs for cutting, punching and bending.

This software features an intuitive interface and smart automated sequences to increase productivity throughout the shop and easily connect to the shop floor system for seamless data transfer. The program guides the operator through the process and provides support with automatic functions. In addition, TruTops Boost recognizes when a specification has been changed in the design or program. It then automatically adjusts the upline or downline steps or notifies the operator if intervention is necessary. "The new operating philosophy makes TruTops Boost easy to understand and, thanks to the Boost technology, makes it fast, since calculations are carried out automatically," said a company spokesperson.

TruTops Boost has two operating levels. The HomeZone control level is designed for reviewing all orders and preparing programs quickly via an automated process. When an operator wants greater control, for example to modify individual parameters in an order, the TecZone can be used. An advantage is that both levels can be used simultaneously. This is designed to enable an operator to program in TecZone while the software itself - under the HomeZone control - automatically calculates additional NC programs in the background.

"The key for programming faster is the orange colored Boost Button that activates a variety of calculations for the selected objects," said the spokesperson. After importing the geometry in the 3-D design, the software automatically adapts the parts for manufacturing. It detects bends and sketches the unfolded drawing accordingly. A simulation running in the background examines whether the particular design can be manufactured or if changes have to be made. If the design is determined to be in order, no time-consuming visual simulations are necessary to identify potential collisions or conflicts. Automatic generation of the NC program, nesting algorithms, sensible tool selection and processing sequences are just a few of the functions launched with the Boost Button which minimized the number of mouse clicks required by an operator.

The TruTops Boost HomeZone also enables the operator to review all jobs created. Intuitive search options help operators find and organize jobs, filter according to a number of criteria, including material, target date or change date, as well as review warning messages, such as upcoming or missed deadlines, to best prioritize work. "All combined TruTops Boost results in an increase in productivity for any sheet metal fabrication shop," said the spokesperson.
