High Performance Lines of Rotary and Indexing Tables

Tecnara Tooling Systems offers a Kawata line of lightweight mechanical indexing tables along with the MR, TX and TT Series Kitagawa rotary tables.

The Kawata TOUCHDEX is built for quick set-up, flexibility and low cost. The TOUCHDEX is a fully mechanical unit; it indexes automatically and can be synchronized with users' NC program. It does not need power cables or a digital interface. The TOUCHDEX is not motorized, so it requires only minimum space and can be quickly installed at almost any location.

The Kawata TOUCHDEX uses a locking pin that automatically fixes the workpiece. The Kawata TOUCHDEX is built to handle heavy milling, end milling, drilling and tapping jobs with precision and consistency.

The Kawata TOUCHDEX indexing accuracy is less than 30 seconds (cumulative). Repeat accuracy is ±3 seconds. "The TOUCHDEX clamping system is designed to ensure zero backlash for the life of the unit," said a company spokesperson.

Because it has no motorized parts, the TOUCHDEX can be installed in very tight locations. The TOUCHDEX is built to be lightweight and easy to handle. By aligning two or more TOUCHDEX units, multiple workpieces can be machined simultaneously.

The TOUCHDEX is available in a variety of models, including:

  • FDR model for clockwise and counter-clockwise operation
  • Minimum indexing angle: two options; 1 ° or 5 °
  • FDM model for vertical or horizontal installation
  • Maximum indexing angle with full pushbar stroke: Three options; 15, 45, or 90 °
  • Tilting model integrates two units for five-face machining on vertical machining centers
  • The Vicedex model enables three-face machining in a single operation.

Kitagawa Rotary Tables

"The Kitagawa MR, TX and TT Series rotary tables from Tecnara Tooling Systems offer high production capacity and an array of guaranteed accuracies. The tables are compact and versatile," said the spokesperson.

All Kitagawa MR, TX and TT series tables feature a large worm gear module that provides a large area of contact between the worm and wheel gear. A new alloy is used, further reducing wear. In addition, a special cross roller bearing is built to prevent displacement under load. Accuracy is guaranteed within 15 or 20 seconds in most models.

TX-Series tables also feature a built-in air booster for maximum clamping force. The booster is designed for NC rotary table application and provides clamping force of 1,918 ft-lbs. with air pressure at 71 PSI for 320 size, as an example. Inductosyn or rotary scale option is available for most models. Motor covers are air-purged to keep out moisture and foreign materials.

Tecnara Tooling Systems offers a full range of Kitagawa rotary tables, including side and rear-mount models, multi-spindle models, vertical models and TT-series tilting tables with built-in rotary joints. Tecnara also offers other various high performance tooling systems.
