New Saw Test Center
February 1, 2016
Pat Mooney Saws has moved to a new location expanding the size of its facilities and operations. "As we continue to grow our business we needed to make sure our new facility had sufficient room to equip a fully staffed Test Center," said Pat Thornton, President of Pat Mooney Saws. The new facility has expanded Pat Mooney's square footage to 48,000 sq. ft. of operations under roof, tripling the size of Pat Mooney's operations. The Test Center itself is 10,000 sq. ft. The added space allows Pat Mooney Saws to carry more saws in inventory under power and perform more tests to help solve customer issues. "We can now determine actual performance data of customer material. This data, with video, will be sent to end users," said Thornton. The Test Center will also be used to train distributor and service personnel.
The new facility will allow Pat Mooney Saws to offer more technical support and service as well. Thornton continued, "We have a technical support staff ready to answer questions and also a large spare parts and saw blade inventory at our customers' disposal. We want to make sure our customers have the right equipment and training for their operations."
Pat Mooney Saws' Test Center provides 15 different types of saws set and ready to perform customer specific operations. Pat Mooney Saws represents NISHIJIMAX, FMB, PMI, Kanefusa, OMP and DANOBAT saws.
Some of the recent testing includes:
- Inconel 718: 9" bar cut to 14" length with carbide tipped band saw blade
- 316 stainless shape cut to 1" long parts (150 parts) with carbide circular saw
- Mitre cutting 2" x 2" square tube with a 30°/45° on cold saw
