Kingston has reconfigured its C Series heavy-duty big bore lathes with a H6 350 turret featuring 3" boring bar holder to create the new Kingston Chucker Series. "The Chucker 9, introduced at this year's HOUSTEX show in Houston, TX, features a 9.25" bore, A2-15 spindle and is front and rear chuck ready to tackle all your large and heavy workpieces. This machine is designed with powerful cutting ability, high loading capacity and extreme rigidity with its heavily ribbed one piece casting, 28" two V way bed and a unique box way cross slide and carriage," said a company spokesperson.
According to the company, the Chucker 9 is equipped with a 40/50 HP main motor coupled with a 4-speed headstock for maximum torque, a 5 HP and 9 HP servo motor drives the X- and Z-axis, and FANUC 0iTD controller with Manual Guide i and the threading repair function. The series includes the Chucker 7, 9, 12 and 14, with 7.09", 9.25", 12.5" and 14.5" bore respectively. Options include 13.7" and 23.5" steady rest and a 6" boring bar support with 4" sleeves.
