CMM Software Training Designed to Serve Growing Need for Skilled Workforce

Verisurf University from Verisurf Software, Inc. provides training for customers, educators and students seeking to improve their knowledge of Verisurf software, coordinate metrology and their practical application in a manufacturing environment.

According to the National Tooling and Machining Association (NTMA), training the next generation workforce is the biggest problem facing its members. At the same time, training the existing workforce - growing their skills and keeping them current on new technology - remains a pressing need.

"We offer a learning path to fit everyone's needs and schedule; Verisurf University is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week anywhere there is an Internet connection," said Ernie Husted, President and CEO, "It is the ideal extension to our popular instructor led training."

Verisurf University delivers Internet-based video training through a standard Web browser. The curriculum is designed to provide learners with a strong theoretical and practical understanding of Verisurf X, and includes 12 courses that cover the user interface, measurement, alignment, analysis and reporting functions. Learners also have the option to earn a certificate of completion by successfully passing challenging examinations following each course. A learning management system manages the learner's home page and provides quick access to all account information, history, certificates, personal calendar and courses. Additional courses in development include Model-based Definition and Inspection, Advanced Surface Analysis and Reverse Engineering techniques.

"Verisurf University brings affordable, standardized metrology training to a broader audience, which is particularly important as our industry moves toward formal certification programs for the metrology practitioner," stated Nick Moffitt, Verisurf Education Product Manager. "Verisurf University is perfect for quality managers, manufacturing engineers, tool builders and machinists seeking to realize the many benefits of modern metrology technology in manufacturing."

For companies with more specialized needs, Verisurf University staff members are available to recommend the best mix of online and instructor led course work. Additional information and a brief video tour of Verisurf University are available at www.verisurfu.com.
