WinTool USA Partners with Machining Cloud

WinTool USA has partnered with Machining Cloud. "This is to ensure that our customers will have access to complete, up-to-date cutting tool data from leading cutting tool manufacturers, thereby increasing the accuracy and effectiveness of tool and process management systems," said a company spokesperson.

Upon completion of its Machining Cloud connection, WinTool reported that it will offer its customers four key benefits through this partnership:

  • Initial cutting tool data import to save time for new customers who need to download data for a number of cutting tool items to initially populate their WinTool database
  • Periodic data updates so customers have the latest cutting tool data
  • Cutting tool application data, which offers cutting tool manufacturers' latest recommendations on cutting speeds and conditions
  • New tool search, which allows end users to search the entire manufacturer's catalog for new tools not presently in inventory.

According to Jimi Walsh, V.P. of Sales at WinTool USA, "The mission of Wintool is to make much-needed tooling information more easily accessible to our customers and prospects. A partner like Machining Cloud, which operates with a very similar mission, will bring even greater benefits to all manufacturers."

Using the Machining Cloud tablet and desktop apps, users have access to features that include:

  • Tool Selector
  • Tool Configurator
  • Tool Advisor
  • Tool Package / Job Management
  • Reporting
  • Commerce.

Walsh added, "In addition, the WinTool database easily interfaces with CAM, presetting, tool crib management, purchasing, scheduling and ERP software. By joining forces with Machining Cloud, WinTool will provide a more effective and seamless flow of information throughout all of our customer shops."

"With WinTool and Machining Cloud, manufacturers have access to numerous analytical tools to manage processes and optimize specific cutting applications, as well as the ability to easily order the components needed to make these solutions a reality," said the spokesperson. "The world's largest providers of manufacturing equipment are partnering with Machining Cloud, bringing an unprecedented amount of resources together under a unified system. Users can view and download virtual machine tools, workholding components, tooling assemblies and a wealth of other related pieces. It is a comprehensive solution for every manufacturing need, and can be accessed via desktop as well as Apple, Android and Windows tablets."
