DMG MORI offers the CTV 250, from its latest generation of vertical turning centers, in STEALTH design. According to the company, benefits of this design include space-saving construction and a high level of user comfort.
"Although the CTV 250 requires only 115.2 sq. ft. of space, it is nevertheless equipped with automation," said a company spokesperson. "An integrated prismatic conveyor belt for up to 40 workpieces and a chip conveyor come standard."
The automatic loading and unloading system can transport components with a diameter of up to 220 mm / 8.7". A dual-track workpiece handling system is also available as an option for diameters up to 100 mm / 3.9". According to the company, this reduces loading and unloading times or enables the separation of raw and finished parts. Other available options for increased productivity include linear belts, robotic automation and machine linkage.
The ergonomic design helps ensure an optimal view of the work area, which is accessible through the 550 mm / 21.7" wide door opening. The control is the SLIMline with 15" display and SIEMENS 840D solutionline with Operate. The SIEMENS control is also available with Transline as an option, allowing simple integration of the CTV 250 into automotive parts manufacturing.
Designed for rigidity and precision, the CTV 250 features 45 mm / 1.8" linear guides and 32 mm / 1.3" ball screws; single-piece Z-slide and wide distances between the guides - 425 mm / 16.7" in the X-axis and 340 mm / 13.4" in the Z-axis; large 120 mm / 4.7" spindle bearing; and a liquid-cooled main spindle for thermal stability.
