The midrange VICI MTL 500 Ergon's open architecture design accommodates easy part loading.
Optical Gaging Products (OGP), a division of Quality Vision International (QVI), has added the VICI Vision Optical Measuring Systems product line to its measurement systems for the industrial marketplace.
VICI systems are designed for dimensional profile measurement of a range of cylindrical parts, including:
- Small medical devices. VICI systems can measure small turned bio-mechanical components such as dental implants, bone screws, threaded inserts and other medical devices. A high-resolution camera resolves the intricate features inherent in small turned parts. Software tools, including thread analysis, compared radius and chamfer tools, facilitate measurement of small features using simple programming techniques.
- Turbine blades. Dynamic Rotational Scanning, combined with the Turbine Blade software tool, enable a VICI machine to continuously rotate around a turbine blade form, fitting data points along the nominal curve.
- Engine valves. VICI Vision's linear array cameras provide rapid, accurate measurements of engine valves. When a VICI machine is integrated into an engine valve production line, fast, complete characterization of all valve dimensions can be immediately fed back into the manufacturing process for real time inline corrections, said the company.
"VICI processing acquires a complete profile part scan in one pass, allowing for tens or hundreds of dimensions to be measured in the same fast cycle time," said a company spokesperson. "Rotational scans also provide dynamic 360° rotational measurements, such as cylindricity and runout. Several models of VICI systems provide a measurement range from the very small to the very large, with a maximum measurement capacity of cylindrical parts up to 1,250 mm in length and 170 mm in diameter. VICI systems' vertical orientation enable easy part loading and unloading, contributing to ease of use and efficiency. All VICI systems are rugged, designed for shop floor use and ready to go to work in any industrial environment."
