Southwestern Industries will showcase its portable TRAK 2OP machining center during its March 25th and 26th New England showroom Open House.
Designed for second operation machining, the TRAK 2OP is intended to streamline a shop's workflow by bringing an additional spindle quickly and easily to an operator idled by the cycle time of his primary machine. It utilizes ProtoTRAK CNC technology, and programs can be generated either at the machine or by remote CAD/CAM to perform tasks normally associated with second operations, including machining of profiles, pockets, face milling, drilling, tapping, countersinking and bolt-hole patterns. Standard features include a contained work envelope, flood coolant, rigid tapping and pallet jack.
Southwestern Industries will also display and demo its TRAK LPM, a quick changeover, short-run machining center, and TRAK bed mill, lathe and knee mill product lines. "Like the TRAK 2OP, these feature ProtoTRAK CNC technology, a powerful but easy to learn and use CNC conversational language that enables lower skill-level machinists to do higher level work, and allows skilled machinists to get more done," said a company spokesperson. All TRAK products are designed and manufactured in Southwestern Industries' Rancho Dominguez, CA, facilities.
Complimentary lunches will be provided. The showroom is located at 167B Memorial Drive, Unit 3., Shrewsbury, MA, 01545.
