Extended Travel Horizontal Digital Optical Comparator

Methods Machine Tools, Inc. offers the VisionGauge 500 Series Extended Travel horizontal digital optical comparator, developed by VISIONx Inc., which features a 36" X-axis travel.
The extended travel system is designed to provide enhanced part tracking and large part inspection with accuracy. The CAD system tracks parts across the entire 36" stage travel, meaning a 36" part can be compared in its entirety to the CAD file.
The systems also features CAD Auto-Align and CAD Auto Pass/Fail tools. The Auto-Align tool automatically aligns CAD data to the part in less than two seconds, producing repeatable results that are completely operator independent, according to the company. The VisionGauge Digital Optical Comparator's Auto Pass/Fail tool automatically determines if a part is within tolerance. The Auto Pass/Fail tool can be point-based or consider complete geometric entities and can perform both simultaneously on the same part.
"VisionGauge Digital Optical Comparators are a fully digital drop-in replacement for traditional optical comparators," said a company spokesperson. "The comparators work directly with the part's CAD data and do not require any overlays, Mylars or templates. Systems are Windows-based and delivered network-ready in a shop floor rolling cart configuration. The comparators can be set-up to automatically collect complete electronic documentation and device history for SPC and quality compliance purposes. VisionGauge Digital Optical Comparators allow users to compare a part to its CAD data in real-time, fully automatically."
The VisionGauge 500 Series Extended Travel Comparator is available in 5xm 10x, 20x, 50x and 100x magnifications and features a 38" diagonal image viewing area. LED-based illumination offers repeatable illumination conditions via a programmable computer-controlled system. Reflected and transmitted modules are also available.
