Automatic and Semi-Automatic Bandsaws

Knuth Machine Tools USA has added the ABS-L fully automatic and HB-L semi-automatic series to its line of bandsaws. According to the company, improvements include more torsionally rigid upper saw frames and linear guides that replace typical round column construction, providing vibration dampening and a smooth saw frame feed for high quality cutting.

The P.A.S. combination hydraulic flow control value features infinite controllability of both saw frame feedrate and cutting pressure, allowing for a wide variation of material processing capability. "As with the new L machines, every Knuth bandsaw has a gear-driven, direct drive beltless blade-drive system," said a company spokesperson. "This design delivers approximately 95% of available horsepower and torque to the drive wheel. These cutting edge features allow for a much more user-friendly operation."

The light beam rapid saw frame utilizes an optical sensor to rapidly position the saw blade to just above the material before going into the feedrate, thus reducing non-productive time and increasing productivity.

Standard equipment includes a hydraulic vise, infeed roller table, coolant system and saw blade.
