Lean Manufacturing Program for Barrel Production

Vortakt Barrel Works continues to break new ground on barrel manufacturing techniques as part of its ongoing effort to serve as a world-class OEM barrel supplier for rifle, pistol and shotgun manufacturers.
Chad Weister, Managing Director of Vortakt Barrel Works, broke the news on this initiative by announcing the hire of Production Manager, Marc Grischeau.
"Marc has spent the last 16 years of his career working in aerospace, automotive, oil & gas, health and science sectors developing lean 5S programs that reduce waste, increase workflow efficiencies and introduce training programs to enhance team skills and productivity. While these practices are common with industries outside the firearm market, they are fairly new to the barrel manufacturing space. By tying this program to Vortakt's cost-based pricing model, Marc's new lean program will deliver three big wins in the form of reduced costs, improved lead time and enhanced quality for rifle, pistol and shotgun manufacturers across the firearm industry."
