DN Solutions recently introduced its new DNX 2100SB multitasking turn-mill center for complex machining applications.
"The DNX makes the world of single set-up machining more accessible than it has ever been, allowing manufacturers to move jobs from multiple turning and machining centers to one incredibly capable machine," said a company spokesperson.
The DNX 2100SB features twin turning spindles and a powerful milling spindle with 0.0001° indexing for six-sided machining of complex parts in a single set-up. This configuration offers increased flexibility and reduced machine set-up times, an ideal combination for high-mix, low-volume environments.
The DNX is targeted towards shops that are currently machining complex parts using multiple set-ups on turning centers and machining centers. In addition to combining applications on one machine, the DNX allows for tool set-ups while the machine is running. With an ATC of up to 60 tools, machine downtime from set-ups can be reduced over traditional machining methods, the company reported.
"An additional benefit is the reduction in tooling costs over traditional turning centers with live tooling turrets. Due to the indexing milling spindle, one tool can be used for both the main and sub spindle, as well as one tool for radial and axial milling," said the spokesperson. "Standard tools can be used for complex applications, and no special angular toolholders are necessary."
With a maximum machining capacity of O520 x 1,100 mm (O20.5" x 43.3"), the DNX is suited for a range of parts across a variety of industries. The machine comes standard with a 12,000 RPM Capto C6 milling spindle (HSK63-T spindle optional) and turning spindles with 8" or 10" chucks are available. An integrated measuring system provides maximum process stability. FANUC's 0i-TF Plus control is standard, and a Siemens SINUMERIK control is an option.
