Karl Bruckner Gmbh, developer of an extensive offering of live centers, has now added the Type CS and CE to the range. These are available from Powerhold, the U.S. distributor of Bruckner products.
The Bruckner live center product range covers centers for conventional turning, CNC turning, heavy duty turning, cylindrical grinding as well as measuring and testing. Beyond these general categories are centers focused on vibration dampening, high coolant flow, long workpieces, varying center hole depth/sizes and more.
The type CS and CE centers have been developed with the following attributes: slim body design for tool clearance, Top Seal system to protect bearings from contamination, extended spindle shaft to dampen vibration, triple bearing design for improved rigidity and fully rebuildable.
Type CS has a standard 60° point, while the CE can accept eight different standard inserts to accommodate workpiece or clearance requirements. Maximum runout (T.I.R.) is 0.0001" and available to 0.00004" on request.
According to Powerhold's William Spooner, "By analyzing the machining process and matching it with the proper center, the customer will achieve higher quality parts and enjoy longer life of their center. The CS and CE give us even more options when recommending a center for a demanding application."
Most centers in the range are available with Morse taper, straight shank, metric taper, VDI, CAPTO and HSK mounts as standard options. All runout specifications are guaranteed under maximum load capacity. Each center is tested prior to shipment and comes with a test report in the box.
