Custom Battery Enclosures Ensure Safety, Energy Efficiency

"As fossil fuel energy prices continue to climb, alternative options like solar plus storage, hydrogen energy storage and microgrid applications have gained traction. Robinson has been fabricating and supporting the energy industry for over 30 years," said a company spokesperson.

Most recently, OEMs have been aligning with Robinson as their domestic manufacturer of custom battery enclosures. Robinson's core capability as an OEM fabricator lends itself to the variety of structural, electrical and design support required for custom battery enclosures.

"Fabrication and assembly of custom battery enclosures requires expertise from multiple areas of manufacturing," said the spokesperson. "Robinson's wide range of skill sets include electrical, automation and controls, design, engineering, prototyping and volume manufacturing to support the needs of emerging energy applications. We work with our customers to create enclosures that are specific to the application. This is particularly the case with energy storage systems and energy custom enclosures."

Robinson meets customers at any point along the supply chain. "Whether the need is for just an enclosure shell only or a fully populated system with batteries, sensors, alarms, fire suppression, HVAC or a completely integrated system drop shipped to the end customer, Robinson can help," said the spokesperson.

Custom battery enclosures often play a role in microgrid designs. Microgrids can operate as standalone energy sources, often combining the benefits of BESS and diesel gensets. Green energy custom enclosures usually include an integrated energy management system (EMS). The battery energy storage system (BESS) along with EMS allow system owners to save and store energy for use when they need it most.

"As a leader in manufacturing in Wisconsin, Robinson has the expertise to deliver services, including system design, factory acceptance testing (FAT), fabrication and full turn-key solutions for custom battery enclosures," said the spokesperson. "Serving as your single point of contact simplifies the process and ensures efficient communication between our team and yours."
