Southern States Machinery recently hosted the first annual "Tee It Up Fore Fabricators" golf outing at the Mooresville Golf Club. Company sales representatives and local fabrication customers teamed up to enjoy a round of golf and raise funds to help address the labor shortage within the industry. The 47 golfers enjoyed competitions like longest drive and closest to the pin throughout the 18-hole course.
"A special thank you to TRUMPF North America, Bend-Tech, Big Steel Rack, Cidan, HE&M Saw, Kinetic, Ryerson, Imperial Metals, Pat Mooney Saws, Southern Fabricators, Inc, TigerStop and many others for helping raise over $6,000," said a company spokesperson. "Thanks to their generosity, Southern States Machinery was able to raise scholarship funds for individuals who will be attending schools and programs dedicated to manufacturing throughout North and South Carolina through the 'Making it Work' Fair."
"Making It Work" Manufacturing & Engineering Fair exposes the brightest young minds to the wide diversity of job opportunities available in manufacturing operations. More than 200 students from area high schools will attend this event being held at the LeGrand Center in Shelby, NC.
"Southern States Machinery is proud to be supporting the future manufactures in the Carolinas and thankful for all the support from our customers, machine builders and sales team," said Bill Plourd, Vice President, Southern States Machinery.
