SciAps Expanding Its Boston Operation

SciAps has signed a deal to lease a 20,000 sq. ft. building adjacent to its current facility in Woburn, MA. The buildout will serve as the company's new U.S. headquarters, providing an expanded footprint for research, development and sales.

The company will maintain its ISO-certified manufacturing facility in Laramie, WY.

"SciAps research and development 'firsts' include the world's only handheld analyzer capable of measuring carbon, the world's first handheld device for measuring lithium in rocks and brines and the world's fastest X-ray analyzer for sorting aluminum alloys," said a company spokesperson.

The move to the new facility represents the company's third major expansion in only six years.

SciAps is a Boston-based handheld analytical instruments company. "Founded in 2013, it continues to double in size every year by innovating three core technologies - X-ray, laser and Raman - for portable, in-field measurements of elements, minerals and compounds," said the spokesperson. Customers include manufacturers, pipeline engineers, safety and security specialists, researchers, the academic community, scrap recyclers and the mining industry.
