Conveyor Moves Scrap Long Distance with no Carryover
December 1, 2015
PRAB, Inc., a manufacturer of engineered scrap metal conveyor systems, offers the Oscillator Conveyor for transfer of hot, dry or wet abrasive metal scrap, or finished parts across long horizontal distances.
The Oscillator Conveyor is designed with an eccentric drive configuration that meters material forward at a rate of 10-20 feet per minute. The established technology allows for a single drive to convey up to 200 feet. Durable, multi-ply fiberglass springs are designed for a smooth, quiet flow and discharge.
A watertight trough can be engineered in square or flared styles and surfaces can include smooth, urethane, abrasion resistant or rigidized steel. Other options include a screening and sorting configuration available with multiple discharge options to remove fines, fluid or sand from metal scrap.
The Oscillator Conveyor can be installed alongside or beneath presses in a pit. Designed for low maintenance, a single drive uses only four bearings and lubrication points are centrally located for easy access. "The low cost per foot and low-cost operation makes the Oscillator an economical choice for conveying long horizontal distances," said a company spokesperson.
