CNC Platform with Advanced 5-Axis Capabilities

FANUC America Corporation Series 3xi-MODEL B CNC offers innovations that are designed to improve machining performance and ease of use. The Series 3xi-MODEL B CNC features a new CNC platform and advancements in high-speed 5-axis capabilities with architecture and software algorithms built to reduce cycle times while improving part accuracy and quality.

FANUC's CNC platform combines CNC functionality with PC technology. Built-in Bluetooth on the CNC allows the use of wireless technology to transfer data between a tablet and CNC. Display of advanced PC applications such as CAD/CAM or other PC-based machine peripherals, are directly shown on the CNC, eliminating the need for the operator to leave the machine. Other features include: enhanced 3-D graphics with MANUAL GUIDE i, larger data storage and use of peripheral devices such as a keyboard and mouse.

For advanced smooth, simultaneous 5-axis high-speed machining, FANUC's 30i-B/31i-B5 CNCs have High-Speed Smooth TCP with tolerance control. This is designed to reduce cycle times while improving part accuracy and quality.

Improved operability is also achieved with the Series 3xi-B CNCs using the operator hand held iPendant for CNC. "The FANUC Series 3xi-B controls are the best in class for performance and reliability," said a company spokesperson.

In addition, FANUC's Series 3xi-MODEL B controls (this includes 30i-B, 31i-B, 31i-B5, 32i-B and 35i-B) feature enhanced high-speed and large capacity, multi-path PMC offering large scale sequence control with a maximum of five concurrent independent ladders. Execution of common instructions is over two and a half times faster than the previous generation, with additional capability of high-speed module executing every 1 ms. Supporting up to 32 servo axes, 24 simultaneous interpolated axes, eight spindles and five independent PMC machine ladders, the Series 3xi-MODEL B CNC is developed for high performance machine tools.
